Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of East Asian art and find your inner peace. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, in this course you'll discover the beauty of Chinese ink painting:
• Zen-inspired, simple brushstrokes for greater mindfulness
• Painting the "Four Emperors" (plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum) and more
• Simple landscapes and portraits – perhaps even the Alps or the Donau River?
The instructor, who grew up in China, will demonstrate techniques of this Chinese art in theory and practice. It's not just a form of painting, but also an art of relaxation. Discover the magic of brush and ink!
All materials, such as brushes, ink, paper, inkstone, and felt, will be provided by the instructor for the course.
Please bring: Some newspapers, sturdy clothing that can get dirty.
Note about the course to the adult education center (vhs) (What do you need? Special rooms, equipment, media, etc.?):
I need a spacious room with tables and chairs. A sink or water source for cleaning brushes is also required. If this is not available in the room, a room near a washroom would be desirable.
A projector or whiteboard is also helpful for presenting lesson content and sample drawings.
Hui Song, born in Confucius’ hometown, was immersed in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy from an early age. He trained professionally in Chinese painting and mounting techniques and holds degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine and International Business.
